Geocache Description:

Do you remember your first job? Not the one at the high school where you helped out in the office or cafeteria or in the A/V department, but your first honest-to-goodness job working for a real business in business to make a profit. My first job was waxing cars in the summer of 1974. My boss was a man named George who wore a toupee that never fit quite right. I worked Saturdays and Sundays for minimum wage and spent the money on gas, dates and school supplies. I stopped working for him when I got a better paying weekend job in a wire mill.

Right next to the cache there used to be a Bagel Shop where my daughter took her first entry-level job during her 2005 summer break from Sonoma State. There are other establishments in the same shopping center where many other young adults are currently earning their first paychecks, some home from college, some working and studying at the same time and some starting their full time adult working life. They, like my daughter are all learning the value of working hard, having a marketable skill and getting along with others.

After you find this cache, drop into any of the businesses in this shopping center and take a good look at the young folks just beginning to earn their own way. How long ago was it when you were in their shoes? What was your first job like? When you log your find, tell us about it.

The cache contains a sign-only log so please bring your own pen.
