Geocache Description:

Cache is NOT at the posted coordinates. You can find good Mexican food there, but you'll have to solve the puzzle to find the cache. Originally published in 2005, most of the data for the puzzle has changed over the years. I finally reworked it in 2019, but the final coordinates are the same.

In honor of the Tour de France that started on July 6th, 2019, I present the Tour de Texas!

I thought we could use a bike race that's a little closer to home. It starts in Elkhart, comes up through Fruitvale, Farmersville, and Petty, back south to Neches, northeast to Atlanta, and finally west to the finish line in Cumby. Here is a map of the course:

If you were in a car, it would supposedly take you many hours to complete it. Even though you cyclists really like to zip down the road, it will probably take longer, especially in the Texas heat. Follow the code of the road and you shouldn't have any problems. The major cities along the way are shown on the map.

Trophies will be awarded for first, second, and third places, and even fourth and fifth places will receive a prize. The race will be well attended: we've got 75,551 racers just from the Atlanta area (I didn't know that many people lived there!). Ride safely but don't dawdle!

Good luck, and see you on the road!
