THE LISTED COORDINATES ARE FAKE! THE LISTED COORDINATES ARE FAKE!

When you say “code”, most people think of spies but most codes are just convenient ways for us humans to communicate with any of our many machines, and sometimes, each other. A lot of people (and machines) from 1870 to today should be able to read a version of the following coded message. The elementary version of this code has been used worldwide since it was created and it is every bit as popular today. I thought a cache using this shifty code would be a capital idea. The first line of code is just an amateur attempt to get your attention because you may not be tuned into what I’m sending, although it is very complimentary.

Please do not give any hints, encrypted or not, in your online logs or I will remove them and you will have to relog. Besides, you don’t want to deprive others of the joy of solving this, do you? Oh, there are clues scattered throughout the description and existing remarks spaced throughout this listing. I’m sure some one can zero in on the correct answer.

A few clues: observe the posted parking hours on the street. You walk along a 20-foot wide right of way between 2 fences. Go across the small bridge, turn right immediately, and follow the rough trail. Look for a large forked maple tree on the bank above the brook, the cache is between its toes. Reception may be iffy due to tree cover so let your GPS settle. Total distance, round trip, is 0.2 miles. Good luck.

UPDATE-04-05-2014 The cache container has been moved to a more secure location about 100 feet away from the original spot which had eroded. Rehide the cache well so it doesn't get muggled.
