This should be a very simple find for cachers of all ages,
physical abilites and geo cacheing sense. The highway is open year around and the cache will be available year around but the rest rooms are closed in the winter. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO LEAVE THE PARKING LOT TO FIND THIS CACHE!!!!!!
Most DOT rest areas have geo caches and this one was feeling a little left out. Blue Lake is a small DOT rest area with shaded picnic areas and clean bathrooms with running water. It is a nice stop to look and see some of the wonders of the Coulee Corridor. The Coulee Corridor is a scenic byway that is 100 miles long and strecthes from Othello to Grand Coulee Dam along state highways 17 and 155. Amazingly this area of our state is a semi arid region but all along the corridor you will find water in the form of rivers, lakes and potholes. There are five state parks, dozens of major lakes, seven wildlife management area and a national recreational area. In the middle of it all is Blue Lake and it nice little rest area. Stop, take in the beauty of this area and stretch your legs while searching for the cache.
