Geocache Description:

Village outside Rugby. Home of the funny shaped ball!

Well here we go! This is my first Cache so let’s hope somebody can find the box.

The Cache is hidden in the village of Barby Nr Rugby. Quiet little village with one pub & one shop!

Within the village is the remains of an old Norman Motte & Baily, unfortunately this is on private land so no access is allowed.

Barby is also famous for the Maclaren Pushchairs. So all you parents out there may remember the original blue/white or red/white stripped pushchairs which folded up! These were invented & originally manufactured in Barby. I believe they are manufactured in Long Buckby now.

As you draw closer to the cache please use the stiles & footpath to access the site.
Once in the copse you will see a sign stating this as ‘Camp’s Copse’. This copse was dedicated to a local man called Mr Camp who lived in the village for many years.
(very overgrown at the moment)
The box is hidden within the copse and contains the following:

Welcome letter explaining the theory behind Geocaching.

Notebook & pencil so please leave the time/date & any comments.

Cub Scout badges (I’m a local leader & the cubs helped me hide the cache) please only remove the badges if you can leave Cub Scout badges from a different troop in there place.

A Frisbee!
