The Jobsite Traditional Cache
eyeseeit: I have decided to permanently archive this cache. The hide style will apear again in another location with a modification to the cachetainer. It is the first one of mine to be archived. Sad to see it go. It had a good but short run. I learned a lot from placing and supporting this hide. I will be placing one in the woods near this location soon to keep you all coming to this area. Thank you for hunting my hides.

A small cache specifically hidden to draw attention to a significant jobsite location.
Cache has been updated as of 9.26.05. The container is larger. There are cache pencil here to log with. There is now room for a collection of small cache trash trinkets. There is a TB in the cache for the first time. There is also an "Updated cache" eyeseeit geotoken for the FTFer who is first to find after the cache update. Co-ords have been updated as of 8.04.05. Thank you to Genius Loci. My origional intention of this hide was to call attention to the jobsite located just to the south west. This major intersection is to be the location of a magnificant hotel, retail, residential and shopping/dining development. This will be an economic boom for the area and a fun operation to observe as it comes together over the next few years. When I arrived at the hide site I was disapointed to realize that you cannot really see the site as well as I had hoped. That is O.K. as there are a few coincidental benifits of this hide now.
Firstly, the hide is a nod to one of my favorite finds so far. This cache is similar in hide style to Flat Tire Taxi (GCMZQ9) a great hide in the heart of the meat packing district in NY. The wonderful thing about flat tire taxi is that it is huge for such an urban cache and it is in an area passed by literally thousands of people every day, the vast majority of whom are totally unaware of it's existence.
For me one of the neatest aspects of geocaching is the idea of being in on a secret. Every time I drive past a cache I have previuosly logged I get a smug, in-the-know, feeling that makes me grin like an idiot. I will drive past this one almost daily as will hundreds of thoulsands of muggles.
Although this is a log only micro (bring a pencil) and not nearly the size of flat tire (7X5X5) it is constructed in the same manner and hidden in almost the exact same way as it. I was excited to see that I could hide it in this way.
The cache contains a log sheet and a one-of-a-kind, homemade, wooden, First-to-Find, eyeseeit geocoin for the lucky FTFer.
There is parking west of the cache available to the public in the multi story garage and some great woodsy areas adjacent north and south. This forested area is soon to be the hiding place for my largest cache yet. It will be bigger than any others I have found in IL. While you are here make the short trip to my other local hide, Woodchuck Hill (GCNV8A).
Thank you for hunting my caches. Have fun. Play safe. Cache in, Trash out!
