Happy Holidays Cache

There are several caches out there with holiday themes, but this one encompasses all of my son’s favourite holidays. When you have a child (or grandchild), these special times of the year take on all new meaning. It is a time to see things through “a child’s eyes” and hopefully recall fond memories of our own childhood holidays.

This is a multi-cache with all three parts located in the same park at the east end of Cobourg. The final cache location will always remain the same, but the theme and the cache trade items will change with the holidays.

To log this cache as a find, please make trades based on the current theme of the cache:

Jan. 1st - Feb. 14 - Valentine’s
Feb. 15 - Easter Mon. - Easter
Easter - June 1st - Birthday Celebrations
June 2nd - July 1st - Canada Day
July 2nd - Aug. 31st - Summer Vacation
Sept. 1st - Oct. 31st - Hallowe’en
Nov. 1st - Dec. 31st - Christmas

Before you set out remember to note the current holiday theme so you can bring along an appropriate trade item.

Begin this Holiday quest in the parking lot at:

N 43 57.511 W 078 07.694

Walk to the posted coordinates:
N 43 57.522 W 078 07.918 where you will find a monument.
Take the day (a b) and the month (c d) mentioned on the monument and add these numbers to each of these coordinates:

N 43 54.676 + (a . b c d) = N __________________

W 078 04.804 + (a . b c d) = W __________________

Use the new coordinates to find a micro. Inside you will find the coordinates to the Happy Holidays Cache.

This cache is our 1st cache and is hidden to celebrate my son’s 4th birthday on July 3rd.
Please keep this cache a “Trash-Free Cache” as it is meant for children and those young-at-heart to enjoy!

WARNING: Please keep children and pets close as the trail and final cache location are along a steep ledge along the lake.

ADVICE: When you leave the trail to head into the final cache location, go a little bit further before heading off the trail and you will avoid the prickly bushes.
