Off a trail, easy walk. I wouldn't take a stroller though! There is poison ivy in the area so take care. Lots of standing water at the trailhead.
As many people know, Catholics founded the state of Maryland. Shortly after they arrived, they passed a law of religious tolerance. This was not because Catholics are more tolerant than other religions but because Protestants were quickly out numbering them! Even with this measure, there was a Protestant revolt. Still, the signs of this early division on church preference can be seen in St Mary’s county with all the Catholic and Episcopal churches.
Luckily during this era, at least in most parts of the USA, we are more tolerant of other religions. If you look to your right entering the road to this park, you can see evidence of this. We have a Pentecostal church next to the county’s Synagogue.
So, take some time and enjoy this newly renovated park. There's plenty to do here....skate park, spray park, two play gounds, ball field. You get the picture. Take time to stop and smell the roses or...the trail to the cache.
