Geocache Description:

A roadside find, it's one of those historical markers that we always think we'll stop for and just drive right on by...well, today's the day. Easy parking. It's a camo'd ammo can in a not too hard to find spot. Also a good spot for a TB swap.

There aren't too many caches in Jackson Co. so after driving past this spot many times I dropped in to check the marker. Come on over for a brief history of a lost county. There are some briars, bugs, and the usual suspects in the area. Looking back north across the highway you can see some geology, there are fossils to be found along that other road. Sheets of the small corals and shells of the bygone sea. The original cache contents that should stay with the cache: log and pen in a baggy and a laminated info sheet on Decatur Co. AL. Those items up for trade: 2 matchbox-type cars, a couple of erasers, a pack of markers, travel sized bug spray, a dolphin glass figurine(nib), a couple of trash bags. Must sign and date the log for credit.
