dead drop - a drop used for the clandestine exchange of intelligence information; "a dead drop avoids the need for an intelligence officer and a spy to be present at the same time"
drop - a predetermined hiding place for the deposit and distribution of goods (such as drugs, stolen property or information)
A “dead drop” is a time tested technique to transfer information in the fields of espionage and covert operations. Traditionally, a location is established where information is to be transferred. A “flag” is also established to alert operatives that new information is in place.
Your “flag” will be the introduction of a new Cache under the heading: “Dead Drop # __” posted intermittently on this web site by “Your Special Agent.”
Your mission, if you decide to accept it, is to:
1. Locate various dead drop locations around Michigan (using coordinates provided);
2. Collect and compile the requested information;
3. Log onto this web site and post your find (without revealing the location or information);
4. Combine the intelligence you’ve accumulated to arrive at a final rendezvous point where you will be rewarded for your efforts.
(Note: Although all Dead Drop caches are listed as “Mystery” or “Virtual” caches, some of your missions will be multi-caches, some will be traditional, and some will be virtual.)
