Geocache Description:

This is our first hidden cache and we'd like to dedicate it to a good family friend, the late David Liberty of Burlington, CT. When visiting Connecticut, before we actually moved here, Dave was always eager to show us around and tell us the history of the surrounding areas. One of the many places he showed me was this old stone jail house up the street from where he lived. If I remember correctly he told me that this jail was used in the 1920's where those breaking the law would be locked up for days at a time in this secluded area. The doors and most of the bars on the windows have long since been removed but it's still a neat sight to see.

Don't be alarmed when Stone road turns into dirt, and I'm pretty sure the dirt section of the road is closed during snow falls so prepare for a mile or so hike down the road in the off-season.

Cache is a clear, half gallon, lock 'n' lock type of plastic storage container. It's also the home of our first travelbug, "Tigger On The Loose!"

Good luck, and enjoy!
