Geocache Description:

When PandaChick turned 16 (15 years ago) like every other healthy teenager, she had one thing on her mind… learning to drive! After getting her Learner’s Permit she needed to drive 50 hours under a parent’s supervision before she could apply for her California Drivers License. I first discovered this perfect place for those initial sessions when her older sister, SSUChick, was learning to drive the year before. On the day we hid the cache we saw two other families there for the same purpose. If learning to drive is the quintessential rite of passage for a teenager, then teaching your child how to drive is the quintessential rite of passage for the parent of a teenager. I was excited to see our daughters grow up and delighted to have an active role in this part of their lives but I was also sad to see them use this new skill to move away from us and go to college. While looking for this cache, if you see a car with a young driver and a nervous passenger be sure to give them a wave. Their passage is just beginning. The cache is neither in the lamppost nor in the planter. When you log your find please tell us the story of when you learned to drive or when you taught someone else how to do it.
