THIS CACHE IS CURRENTLY UNAVAILABLE SINCE THE 'TRAIL' IS BEING CONVERTED TO A 'TOADWAY' !!! Cache is located near the terminus of a portage trail. The trail is appropriate for all off-rodd vehicles (Trail permit required for snowmobiles in winter months!), or for a comfortable walk.
The dictionary indicates that 'to cadge' means 'to obtain by subtle begging' (geocaching?). The cache in near the terminus of the northern extension of the CADGE ROAD which was originally a portage used by natives, trappers, surveyors and loggers in previous times (This portion of Ontario wasn't settled until the late 1800s). There is limited roadside parking near the trail head at N45 07.423 and W78 45.209. A pleasant trail hike through a boreal hardwood forest takes you directly to the locale. This well marked trail can be accessed by snowmobile (with a trail permit!) in the winter; or by ATV, SUV, motor-bike or 4X4 in other seasons. Use extreme caution with any low chassis vehicle! The more adventurous might come by water from the 'Brothers'. There is reasonable fishing and a pleasant site for your picnic at this site. Be sure to arm yourself with bug dope. The cache is a 30 cm. section of camouflaged plastic pipe and is placed high enough for a winter find.
