Geocache Description:

Join us for the Maryland Geocaching Society's August 2005 Meet & Greet, hosted by The Fun Group at King's Landing Park. We will be using the pavillion in the north field with restrooms and primary parking near the barn. Overflow parking is at N38 37.598, W76 40.250.

Mark your calendar and make plans now to attend the August Meet & Greet, sponsored by The Maryland Geocaching Society! Event starts at 11 A.M. on Saturday, August 6th.

"Kings Landing Park in Huntingtown, Maryland offers a wide range of natural experiences. A 200-foot fishing pier provides opportunity for fishing in the Patuxent River. Canoe and kayak access is also provided. Trails meander through upland forest, meadows and a boardwalk provides view of the marshes along Cocktown Creek. Picnic tables are provided in several locations. Groups may rent Patuxent Hall and picnic pavilions for events or activities. Overnight camping is available for organization-sponsored youth groups."

Park Hours of Operation -- 8:30 am to 8:00 pm

Entrance to the park is free, and leashed pets are welcome.

The event is open to ALL geocachers, even if you're not from Maryland or if you're not a member of the MGS. We encourage any geocacher who has an interest in quality caches and wants to have a good time to join us! New to the game? New to the area? Visiting from out of town? Feel free to join us!

This event will be held rain or shine. We'll have a brief business meeting to go over some things the MGS is working on, and we'll eat lots of good food, share lots of great stories, and fill our heads with lots of great memories!

The event's format is potluck. Please post a "Will attend" note on the cache page if you plan on coming and what dish you plan to bring to share.

There are currently no existing caches in the park, but new ones will be placed for this event.

If you are a Geocacher in the state of Maryland, please join the Maryland Geocaching Society. This is a great way to get the most out of Geocaching in our region. Simply go to www.mdgps.org for details!
