Hog Wallows Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

allengomez: After the comments regarding the cache box needing some maintenance, we decided to go out with some duct tape to see what we could do. Well, had we known that this historic area was subject to control burns, we may have found a safer place for it. The entire area had been burned within the last month. We found some of the accent gems and what was left of the standing stapler, plus some ash that was obviously once paper. We did not find any remnants of the cache box or anthing else. It was sad but life goes on. Thanks for all of the positive comments.

Geocache Description:

The area is natural but easy to move around in. You might consider pants at certain times of the year and good footwear.

After holding on to the "ready to go" cache we won at the cache event at Aerodog in Tulare (ahem) over a year ago, we decided it was time to find a good home for it. In keeping with the historical marker theme of "Saoirse's Cache" (GCGQKX), we choose this location as the perfect place for another cache. It is a nice out of the way spot and you can learn something more about Tulare County. Also check out the link to the historical society's page for more info on the Hog Wallows.
