In 2002, former Ranger John accidentally mowed to close
to the river's edge with his brand new, park issued John Deere Lawn
Tractor. The mower began to slide down the embankment and despite
the efforts to reverse his course, the mower continued. John jumped
off and 100 feet later, the iconic green and yellow, Vermont native
tractor plunged into the chilly spring waters of the Connecticut
River. The story was soon forgotten......This cache commemorates
that event for all time. Stop in a say hello to the new rangers.
Please log your most embarassing moment....i'll keep it a
secret!
