the old railway track used to run from whitby to scarbourough and is accessable from ravenscar.
best parking for the railway line is at N54.23.846 W000.29.060
the victorians planned to make ravenscar an upmarket seaside resort.
unfortunatly this never took off as no one was willing to be the first to invest in this project and the plan fell through.
if you have time to look round ravenscar you may find markings as to were the buildings were to have been.
