Scottie: Sadly, with the encroaching piles of gravel, this site is just not a safe spot for the cache or cachers anymore. Perhaps after a couple more years this spot will be reclaimed back to parkland and once again another cache can be put in this location.

Site of an original Horse Race Track in Cranbrook
How many local Geocachers are aware that in the ‘days of yore’ there used to be a horse race track in Cranbrook? This cache is placed close to where this race track was located. Unfortunately, when you visit this site, you will see why this spot will not last for much longer. The site for this cache offers clear views of Cranbrook, Baker Mountain and The Steeples. There are several ways of driving fairly close to this location. I chose to park close to the yellow barrier at the NW end of Borden Ave W.
Due to equipment working, it was necessary to relocate the cache to a slightly different location. The co-ordinates have been adjusted accordingly. The cache container is still being guarded by a skull ... you have been warned!After visiting and checking the cache container I would encourage you to go to the top of the rise to look at the views of Cranbrook and Mount Baker.
NOTICE: If you visit this location do be aware that there are some crumbling drop-offs within walking distance of the cache site. However, you DO NOT have to go near these drop-offs on the way to and from the cache.
