Walking the dogs Mystery Cache
Dot Plotter: Cache owner has not logged onto geocaching.com in quite some time. This cache has been disabled for an extended period of time. A three part multistage cache loosely following the path I walk my two German Shepherd Dogs on.

This area is a portion of the path I take my dogs on for their walk. The caches are off the daily path we take, but they are areas we’ve explored over the years. There are thorns in the way if you take a direct route to some of the spots, so look for alternative entry points.
When you have two large dogs, you have to buy lots of food and other equipment. You also need to make sure you keep them healthy with regular visit top the vet. If the dogs get out and become lost, you need to have the number to the local animal control and shelters available to assist in finding them.
In order to find the first and subsequent caches, you’ll need to track down some important phone numbers and UPC bar code numbers from some of the products I’ve bought for my dogs. I’d give you these numbers, but the receipts are missing. Sorry!
The first cache is located at N38 53.AB5 W077 1C.DE1
To fill in the missing coordinates, here are some clues:
1. The dogs go to the Falls Church Animal Hospital on Broad Street in Falls Church. Their phone number is (703) 532-61A1
2. If the dog went missing, I would call the Fairfax County Animal Shelter off of West Ox Road in Fairfax. They can be reached at (703) 83B-1100
3. Both dogs need to have a collar. For the female, I bought a red Aspen Pet X-large 2-ply 1” wide nylon collar with a metal buckle. The UPC code is 723503C12861. I bought the exact same brand and size for the male, but I bought it in blue. The UPC code for his is 723D03213684.
4. For treats, I bought them Healthy Selects Dog Biscuits. Their favorite flavor is the Bacon & Cheese variety. Since they are big dogs, I buy them the large biscuit version in the 10lb box. The UPC code is 742583861E74.
I’m sure there are some other things I’ve forgotten that I need to buy these dogs. Maybe I’ll remember what they are at the next cache. You can find these products at just about any pet store, but there is one located 3 miles away at N38 54.724 W77 13.305 for your convenience. These are all very common product lines, so if the product is out of stock, the UPC label should still be on the shelf.
The first two stages are decon containers with information for the next stage inside. The final stage is a typical ammo box. The first stage is easy to get to. The second and final stages are more difficult to get to. Children, and dogs, can make it, but you may go through some light thorns and over a small creek. Small kids may need a helping hand. A FTF dog tag is in the final cache with the log. The final cache contains chew toys, tennis balls, poop bags, a Petco gift card, and dog breath mints. I’ve also put a bottle of Tech-Nu poison ivy lotion and wet wipes in the cache. These are to stay in the cache. Depending on your approach to each cache, you may go through some poison ivy. If so, feel free to clean up with the Tech-Nu and wipe down with the wet wipes. If either gets low, please post a comment and I’ll replenish them.
