ohjoy!: Enough with the throw-downs because folks think they have found the correct hiding spot based on the hint and old logs. This is done due to the difficulty of counting the butterflies of certain colors.

If someone else wants to use the sculpture, at least I won't have to count the butterflies! In addition, if you want to place a puzzle here, I'm willing to give you the accurate count to begin with.

Geocache Description:

Finally – the series I promised to do in honor of my daughter rowq’s birthday last November! This is the first of 2 caches in the west leg of a series of 6 caches called “A Few of Her Favorite Things.”

This cache could be subtitled: Butterfly Bush Revisited (with thanks to DubyaDee for letting me adopt the site)

rowq loves puzzles (jigsaws are her favorite) and artwork of all sorts, so here is a puzzle related to artwork for you:

Park safely at N 46º 54.090 W 122º 45.604 and walk across the street to the given coordinates to count butterflies as follows:

___ = A = total number of butterflies

___ = B = number of colors of butterflies

___ = C = number of blue butterflies

___ = D = number of green butterflies

___ = E = number of purple butterflies

___ = F = number of yellow butterflies

___ = G = number of orange butterflies

Then compute the final coordinates as follows:

N 46º KL.PQR W 122º ST.XYZ where

K = B
L = C

P = E - B
Q = G - D
R = E - C

S = D
T = F – D

X = G
Y = A - (B + C + D + F)
Z = D - C

Solve the puzzle and then find the cache nearby. Hopefully the park will soon be open to visitors again.
