Geocache Description:

This cache is part of "The Kiwi Coin Exchange" cache series. The series consists of five caches and a main cache at the end.

Car parking is available at:-
N 52° 01.014 W 000° 48.602

Each cache contains a coin labelled A, B, C, D or E you will need to record the value, Letter and country the coin comes from. Please don't remove these labelled coins from the cache; the next finder will need them. Each cache also contains a value for the location, this is written on the back of the logbook.

At the end you will convert these into pounds sterling and the coin that has the most value will determine where the final cache is located.

You will need to record the following items from each cache.

The country, letter and value of the coin
The number of the town of area, this is written on the back on the logbook.

Each cache is based around one of our favourite towns or areas in New Zealand, so hopefully you will learn a little about New Zealand while doing this cache series.

The final cache is at GCPRTF - The Kiwi Coin Exchange - Final

Maybe one day you will travel to the actual places mentioned in the caches.

This cache contains the Coin E and the value for Auckland.

For some strange reason there is a huge amount of used butter containers on the way to this cache, maybe the foxes use them? A bit about Auckland

Auckland, 'The City of Sails'. Nearly 1 million people live in Auckland City, New Zealand. The city is on the edge of the Waitemata Harbour - 'Waitemata' being the Maori word for 'Sparkling Waters'. Auckland has a diverse culture and lively atmosphere.

Auckland is central to both the East and West Coast shorelines, with travel times as little as 10 minutes.

The East Coast where the sea hits the shore in a gentle and quiet rythym, where locals and visitors alike enjoy the tranquil beaches walking and soaking up the sun.

The West Coast, rugged seas with hills, native bush, where wild birdlife abound, such as the Gannet Colony at Muriwai Beach.

The West Coast where internationally famous movies have been used as picturesque backdrops, Such as KareKare Beach where 'The Piano' was filmed. Also the TV series 'Hercules' was filmed in the Bethells Beach area and the Local town of Henderson was where the castle was built.

'Kiwis' as the locals are named, are outdoor 'Freaks' water, air, land - you name it, they do it ! New Zealand is where Bungy Jumping began; A.J. Hackett who was known for his bungy off the Eiffel Tower is a great entrepreneur and ambassador for the adventurer spirit of New Zealand. His website can be found here
