Geocache Description:

This cache is placed in Bill Yeck Park. Bill Yeck is a 154-acre nature park. The best way to access this cache is via the Rooks Mill Road entrance. You will see the park kiosk and you can park along the curb. There is a trail that will lead you close to the cache. Please stay on the park trails. Also, remember to put the cache back just the way you found it.
As you get closer to the cache you should find an old pioneer well. This well also marks the approximate location of a pioneer cabin owned by Abner Stevens in 1851 and then by his son, Joseph Stevens, in 1857. The dwelling was situated at the junction of Smith Creek and Sugar Creek. The Stevens farmed the land around this homestead. The well was reconstructed in 1984, and dedicated as an historic site by the Centerville Historical Society and the Centerville-Washington Park District.
