This will be a relatively easy find. Once parked, follow the signs or use your gps and you will follow the wooden walkway. The terrain can be wet at times but majority of the time it is dry but it is a lovely view of the marsh and the Tusket Channel.
This is my first cache and what a better place than in a historically significant area that pertains to my people which is the Acadians of Wedgeport.
The Butte De La Croix is the site where the first Acadian Pioneers of Wedgeport settled in 1767 and the first mass was celebrated at this site in 1769. A cross was errected and La Butte De La Croix has become a place where my early Acadian pioneers celebrated mass as well as a gathering point.
Now a cross is still there to mark the courage my ancestors shown in re-establishing a dynamic community that we have today.
The cache is an abs pipe. It contains only a log book so bring your own writing utensil .
Due to the possability of other visiters in the area, please retrieve with caution and please rehide as found so there is no accidental discovery.
When the cache is found please feel free to explore the grounds.
Les deux langues est accepter pour ecrire dans le log book.
Thanks and enjoy
