An easy cache located near the parking area for the new Econfina Creek/Silver Lakes hiking trail. The parking area is off of Scott Road, North of Panama City.
You are looking for the new Econfina Creek/Silver Lakes hiking trailhead.
Start at the intersection of HWY 231 and Scott Road, North of Panama City, turn West. Travel along Scott Road for 2.6 miles, staying to the right at the fork/split. Look for the Florida Trails sign along the road on the left (there are also orange blazes on the telephone poles along the road, that lead you to the trailhead). Turn down the small dirt road by the sign and travel .2 miles to the trail head parking area. The cache is close to the parking area.
The cache is intended as a teaser for another cache in the area. If you came out here for this one you might as well get Econfina Creek Trail (GCJ5HG) also. The trail to that cache is worth the trek. Bring water and bug spray, since none is available at the site.
Initial cache contents include: CITO container, emergency poncho, coin keeper keyring, pin on compass, D-ring clock with compass, flashlight, mini pocket knife, Army lanyard, wind chime, Trane keyring, batteries and yellow Jeep #2114.
