ApproV: Bei diesem "temporär nicht verfügbaren" Cache liegt das letzte "Gefunden"-Datum schon mehr als 3 Monate zurück. Einige Logs weisen darauf hin, dass der Cache tatsächlich ein Problem hat. Deshalb erfolgte heute die Archivierung dieses Caches, d.h. er wird nicht länger auf den Listen auffindbarer Geocaches geführt. Sollten sich neue Aspekte ergeben nimm bitte Verbindung mit mir auf, die Archivierung lässt sich innerhalb dreier Monate wieder rückgängig machen.

Dieser Cache ist unserem Freund, dem Graureiher Gandalf, gewidmet. Auf der Suche nach dem Schatz durchquert Ihr sein Jagdrevier und vielleicht trefft Ihr ihn auch vor Ort an ...

Es handelt sich um einen kleinen, einfachen Multicache, der Euch bei schoenem Wetter mit einer bezaubernden Aussicht belohnt.
Zum Schluss geht es zwar ein wenig steil den Berg hoch, doch dafuer ist es nicht weit. Fuer Kinderwagen ist das Gelaende allerdings nicht geeignet. Mit einem Mountain-Bike laesst sich der Cache schneller bewaeltigen.
Benoetigt werden:
  • etwa eine Stunde Zeit
  • ein Fernglas (oder DigiCam)
Starte bei:     N 47 56.251 E 007 57.186
Hier findest du eine Tafel mit zwei Hoehenangaben, die sich auf die Lage des Ortes beziehen, in dem Du dich befindest.
Ziehe die kleinere der beiden Zahlen von der Groesseren ab und Du erhältst A ________________ (A)
Die mittlere Ziffer der kleineren Zahl sei B ________________ (B)
   
Begib dich nun zum unuebersehbaren Kleinod dieses Dorfes, dem alten Wilhelmitenkloster.
Die Geschichte des Klosters ist lang. Es wurde immer wieder aufgebaut und zerstoert. Nachdem es den ersten Bewohnern an der urspruenglichen Location zu kalt wurde, zogen die Nonnen aus und Moenche erbauten ein neues Kloster (hier) im Tal.
Es wuerde den Rahmen dieser (Cache-)Aufgabe sprengen, all die Ereignisse und Besonderheiten aufzuzaehlen, die im Zusammenhang mit diesem Kloster bekannt sind.
Vor Ort findet man (zumindest ausserhalb des Klosters) kaum Informationen ueber die lange Geschichte dieses historischen Gebaeudes, aber wenn es Euch interessiert, koennt Ihr im Internet jede Menge interessanter Dinge ueber das Kloster und seine beruehmte Bibliothek erfahren. Ausserdem kann man mit Pfarrer Cabral einen Termin vereinbaren und sich direkt aus erster Hand informieren. (Lohnt sich wirklich!)
Neben dem Eingang zur Klosterkirche steht ein steinernes Kreuz mit einer Jahreszahl. Teile diese Zahl durch Zehn (Rest bzw. Nachkommastellen ignorieren) und du erhaeltst C ________________ (C)
Da das Kloster heute auch das Rathaus der Gemeinde beherbergt ist es fuer Euch ein leichtes, nun auch noch die Postleitzahl des Ortes in dem Ihr Euch befindet herauszufinden.
Die mittlere Ziffer der Postleitzahl sei D ________________ (D)
Die vorletzte Ziffer der Postleitzahl sei E ________________ (E)
Begib Dich nun nach Stage 1:
        47. 5 B      . A + (E * D)
      007. 5 (E+D). C  - E
Du befindest Dich nun an einem Gebaeude das von bunten Wappen geziert wird, die die Teilgemeinden repraesentieren. Schau Dir die Wappen gut an.

Nun seid Ihr in der Lage, die Koordinaten von Stage 2 zu berechnen:

This cache is dedicated to Gandalf - a grey heron who lives in this area. On your way to the cache you will do a short hike and if you're lucky you will meet Gandalf and his family.

This is a simple and easy Multicache. Provided the weather conditions are okay, you will be rewarded with a nice view from the cache site.
Getting to the final stage includes taking a steep but very short pathway, Most of the paths are not suitable for chariots. Using a mountain bike is possible.
You need:
  • about an hour of time
  • binoculars (or a DigiCam)
Start at:        N 47 56.251 E 007 57.186
You will find two numbers stating the elevation of this village.
Subtract the smaller height from the bigger number and you'll get variable A ________________ (A)
The digit in the middle of the smaller number is B ________________ (B)
   
Well, now you have to go to the church of this town (you can see it). It's a sort of ancient monastery of the "Wilhelmites".
There are many impressive true stories and legends as well regarding this monastery. It has been built and destroyed many times over the last 800 years Originally it has been built somewhere else, but that place was too cold for most of the inhabitants, so they settled finally here in this valley.
It would be definitely too much to tell the story of the monastery in length and detail. Unfortunately you won't find any much useful information around the monastery itself. But if you're interested in the history you will find valuable information in the internet.
Moreover you can make an appointment with the priest (Senhor Cabral) in order to get precise and detailed information regarding the famous library of the monastery.
Near the entrance of the church there is a cross of stone with a number. Obviously the year when it was built.
Divide this number by ten and ignore the rest (no decimals).
This will give you the variable C		 ________________ (C)
Today the monastery is not only used as a church but as well as the mayors house (town hall). This will make it easy for you to find out the ZIP code of the village in which the monastery is located.
The digit in the middle of the ZIP-code is variable D ________________ (D)
The 4th digit is variable E ________________ (E)
Now calculate the next target position (stage 1):

You will arrive at a building that has painted some colorful emblems, representing all parts of the village.
Have a very close look at those emblems.
How many of those emblems have a white background color? F= ________________ (F)
   
Right now you are able to calculate the target-coords of Stage 2:

There you have to search for a black microcache. Inside the small film canister you'll find further instructions.
