Geocache Description:

Cache is located near one of the two bridge over the Pic River

This cache reminded me of the "Billy Goats Gruff Cache" in North Bay.  I hope it doesn't take you as long to find it as the North Bay cache did.

This cache is very near the snowmobile suspension bridge over the Pic River, east of the town of Marathon.  This bridge was built in the memory  Mark Frame who lost his life, when grooming trails across the Pic River, the groomer he was driving went through the ice on the river.  One person was able to get out and walk about 5 km for help.

You can take a road off Highway 17 (48° 42.424N, 086° 16.667W) almost to the cache location.

Initial contents of the cache are: - fish keychain grabbed from "Pining for Polly Lake" cache - 2 AA batteries for a battery depleted GPS - www.fishtv.tv lanyard - bouncy bag - Marathon Pulp Inc. Fridge magnet - my trademark - 2 compass keychains - "Bear beware" sticker - "Jeep 4X4 Travel Bug" retrieved from "Foot Loose" Cache on July 23, 2005

NOTE: March 24, 2010 - The original cache container as replace with a magnetic key-case. It is hidden within 500 mm of the original location - no change to coordinates. It is probably harder to find than the original container was.

November 10, 2012 - Out to replace the 3 original caches with a new cache - now a small lock'n'lock

November 7, 2023 - A new cache container placed (plastic container with screw-top lid
