Pendergast Ridgeview Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Fledermaus: This cache, to include other in the immediate area and their locations, have been compromised by the utter destruction of the woodlands and the subsequent building of roads, an industrial park and probably future upscale houses. To anyone else wishing to place a cache in and around here, be my guest!

Geocache Description:

PENDERGAST RIDGEVIEW
Pendergast Park Entrance Sign.    On a warm July afternoon, while both of the Sandals were hunting caches in Pendergast Park, they discovered an excellent cache site and they were seriously considering using it for themselves.

However, he and I went on an afternoon later that week for a round-about park tour and he located a couple of better cache sites. With my feet, legs and back still aching, we went to the previously found site, which is where you now have to go.

Picture of the SW Corner of the Parking Lot.    With Blue Sky above and my GPS displaying all 12 Satellites(Three-Quarter to Full-Scale) and an EPE of (5)Five Meters, how could you ask for better than that?

So, now it's time for you to go out and find the cache. When you get there, take a look around and "On A Clear Day" you can see Mount Rainier to the Southeast. To the Northeast, you can see the Pendergast Park Athletic Building and parking lot across the forest floor.

You are looking for an Ammo-Box with a variety of goodies. It is hidden in a natural hollow between a rock and a bush, with the obvious "Parallel Sticks" on top of it. Watch your footing at and around the cache site!
When hunting for this cache:

1. I do not recommended taking very young kids, due to the length of the walk.
2. Wear long pants and shirt, and take a jacket on a cold and/or rainy day.
3. Take a container with your favorite beverage to quench your thirst.
4. Take a walking stick for those uphill portions of the trail and whacking those affending nettles & sticker bushes.
5. Take a First Aid Kit & Bug Spray, especially with "Deet", for pesky Mosquitos.
6. Make sure someone at home or a friend knows where you are going.
7. Take a Cell-Phone and/or a FRS radio for each family member, if you have them.
8. If you find yourself going down the cliffside, Don't go there!.
9. PLEASE, DON'T HUNT FOR THIS CACHE AT NIGHT!
Before going to this park, it would be a good idea to check for
nearby Geocache, Letterbox, Navicache & Terracache caches.
