A 3-stationed multicache in the Balaton-Uplands, it starts from Hidegkút (a small village) and goes up to the Recsek-Hill. There is a look-out tower at the end, where you can see almost the whole lake from. You have to calculate the coordinates of the 3. cache with the help of the 1. and 2. virtual caches. It won' be difficult.
The walk starts in Hidegkút, a small village in the eastern part of the Balaton-Upland, 15 km from the town Veszprém. It is not far from the Lake Balaton (6km), but since it is a dead-end village, it takes 15 km by car from the lake-shore. If you come by car you can park it nearly everywhere in the village.
1. The first waypoint is the stone-made monument in front of the village-house N 47° 0,187' E 17° 49,692' 322 m. There are little cubical stones on the platform of the monument, but one piece of stone is different from the others (not cubical). The first coordinates (N) is written on this piece of non-cubical stone.
2. From the monument you can see the church standing on the top of the hill. N 47 00.254 E 17 49.776. In the forefront of the church, on the left wall you can see a memorial tablet with roll of honours. You have to find Scheer József's birthdate for the E coordinates, which are E 17 xx.xxx.
Multiply the birthdate of Scheer József with 27, this will be the missing five-digit number of the E coordinates.
The traditional cache is about 40 minutes walk from the church, follow the green sign, or this description, if you can't find the sign at the church:
Follow the main road from the church. At the waypoint N 47 00.110 E 17 49.883 you will find a road going down to the left. It is between the housenumber 15 and 16. Follow this road to the left and down, it goes to a stone-processing factory. After passing across the factory-yard (open and dog-free), you will see a wide forest path to the right. Follow that path and in a few minutes you will see the green tourist-sign which you can follow until you reach the look-out tower on the top of the hill. The cache is about 50 m from the tower.
The view is gorgeous, it is worth to go up. From the tower you can see the greatest forest of the Balaton Upland.
