Over the last year I have been challenged by various Cornish Cachers and enjoyed every minute of it, so this cache is set as both a tribute and a challenge to them. I have rated it 5/5 and I hope it is worthy of this rating. The treasure is not at the given waypoint, (which may or may not be useful).
The terrain rating for this cache is 5 because it will require specialist equipment. The challenge under certain circumstances, is not particularly physical but will require preparation and should only be attempted when the appropriate weather and natural conditions are suitable! Attempting to find the cache without suitable preparation may be extremely dangerous!
A rum bottle washed up on a Cornish beach was found to contain a map and a note.
The map is shown below.
The note was written on notepaper headed ‘Squire Trelawney, Cornwall’ and had greasy food stains on it. The contents of the note were:-
Viybii – vw yjx rlbphtk lw czetz bsdw kjmlnyiw ie cmxz btyi, fftj jr r xiwgmey btyi. Kzm ddxv aa zipp sknzwjajwz fp twlo si tg njejlmpmmey. The clue to the map is equal to - the full circle, but you will have to decrypt the clue for the note!
Following recent events I am adding this warning:-
Attempting this cache is undertaken entirely at your own risk. To get to the final location will require either specialist skills or specialist equipment. With the correct preparation and equipment the risk of danger is not great, however if you attempt to reach it using physical skills only, there may be substantial risk to both life and limb (see logs!).
If you are in any doubt please contact me before setting out to log the cache.
