Off Rich Valley Road out of Abingdon, VA. Fairly easy find. Short
(50 feet) steep trail to cache.
Welcome to our continuing Fallin' For Virginia series of caches.
This cache is the beautiful Garrett Creek Waterfalls. The falls are
about 40 foot high and 40 foot wide. Park at the wide spot in the
road on the left hand side at the given coordinates. Coordinates
are not super accurate due to being in a narrow valley. Best
accuracy obtained was 29 feet. Nothing real dangerous here but
don't pull you car too far off the road and when going to the top
of the falls (to find the cache), don't fall over the edge. After
finding the cache, you may want to walk down the road a bit to get
a better view of the falls. Many thanks to the owner of this
property for granting permission. Out of respect and thanks to Mr.
Mullins, please use CITO. Not reccomended for very small children.
Enjoy Nature's beauty and have a good caching day. Bring your
camera. Please put cache container back exactly as you found
it.
NOTE: On June 20, 2006 we replaced the muggled cache.
New container is a bit smaller and is a 6 inch diameter round
rubbermaid box. Room for small trade items. Kept same coordinates
but moved cache 30 feet up (falls) trail from the old spot. You may
need to use new hints.
