There are 26.2 miles in a marathon; let's call it 26.
Coincidentally, there are 26 letters in the alphabet. I am setting
out 26 micro caches, each named after a letter of the alphabet.
Each of them represents one mile in a marathon. Each of these
micro-caches also contains a clue that will lead you to the
Marathon Cache Finish Line. Runners train for a marathon one mile
at a time, just as cachers will get to work their way toward the
final goal, one cache at a time. Like a runner couldn't train for a
marathon with just one day, don't expect to finish this series of
27 caches all in one day. But like the race, the end reward is
worth all the work. The added bonus is that you get to log each and
every mile...err, cache! Be sure to bring a writing stick, as one
is not included in the cache container.
This micro is the fourth in my Marathon Caching series. It is
located at the along West River Parkway on Grand Island, NY. There
you will find a scenic overlook. Here you will see a wide vista,
reaching all the way to Niagara Falls. On bright sunny days, you
can see all the way to Canada.
Please note, there are roadsigns prohibiting pedestrians and
bicycles from West River Parkway. PLEASE OBEY THEM and access this
cache site only by automobile, as the roadway has no shoulder. Once
you park in the overlook lot, there is lots of room to move around
safely. Also, this overlook is closed from 10pm until
9am.
This micro container might look a bit menancing, but don't
worry... Remember to write down the clue from the logbook so you
can find the Marathon Cache Finish Line later!
Congratulations to WoodiesRoundup on his FTF!
