Geocache Description:

I had heard the rumors....but I had to see it for myself.....

Fade in

As I drove to the meeting, I went over the things I knew. This information had come in over the years and the stories kept escalating in size. Nothing to worry about, mind you, this IS Texas. Stories that tend not to be embellished, but perhaps given lift with the very air of the storyteller. I had heard of the band that met there and talked about changing the face of christian music with heavier guitars and drums, and through clever marketing.
I had also heard about the 3 men who started what was to become the largest computer company in the world, who formulated their plan on napkins and placemats.
These had all caught my ear, but I had no idea how it would play into todays meeting, if only just ambient residue from days past. And so I went to this Houston fixture. I walked in, and the man was already there. Slick hair, modest "uptown" suit, teeth too white and straight to be god given.
The man I was meeting had the money. Not on him mind you, they never do. It was always with in reach though, evidently, because as we negotiated a deal for making my film, he carroted it out, verbally, to how well I was going to turn out on this deal. I recognized the ploy. He was trying to wear me out and then dangle money with no control until I folded.
Gathering my thoughts, I stalled for time by asking the waitress for what she suggested on dessert. The amazing list of delicacies did make me forget the suit with the ready made smile, and then I asked apparently the most ridiculous question I could have, "Is your lemon meringue good, or is light on lemon heavy on meringue?".......
The waitress paused a bit and said, "Your not from here are you darlin'?" and proceeded to chuckle as if holding inside information. While I contemplated my embarrassment, the suit made the fatal comment...."of course we will have control of the direction of the film......". Sandwiched between the lines "Of course, you will be paid upon completion" and "our attorneys will draw up a contract", this was slipped in to be hidden.
Before I could reach across and slap the sealants off his pearly whites, the pie came........large enough to catch the sky in the background. Both the lemon and the meringue were equal height(giant!), and I forgot all about the suit when I took my first bite. While he rambled, I ate on in silence as if pondering his offer. I finished, satisfied to the gills with the pie, and not with the pie in the sky this joker was offering. As I stood, he said "So," teeth flashing, "do we have a deal?"
I rubbed my belly and smiled, paused for a moment and gave him my best look of consideration, and said, "I'll think about it." I smiled, he kept smiling but his eyes were boring holes. I made a half attempt to get the check and he couldn't stand it. He grabbed it and again with the "I'm smiling but my eyes don't mean it look" he said, "I'll get this. After all, I did ask you to meet me!".

Who am I to argue???

This warranted a cache placement to commemorate the occasion. This cache awaits your visit, and please stay and have some pie....its as big as the sky....no really.....I mean it.....I'm not kidding.....

So do we have a deal?

Fade to black.

FTF will have a visit from Santa, sort of a Christmas in July kind, and may even get butterflies after opening the cache.

See you on the cache trails..........
