Haker Park was acquired in 1993. It was named (pronounced HAY-KER)
in recognition of the original land settlers. Tree planting of the
site was accomplished as part of the 1994 City Arbor Day event.
Playground, gazebo and additional site grading improvements were
completed in 1996/97 in conjunction with neighborhood road
improvements. The popular "mini park" has become a focal point for
many of the nearby residents who each year organize a "neighborhood
party".
This is almost a "pocket park" located in a corner of this
neighborhood. It is bordered by the Loomis Road park and ride but
you can not get here from there.
Messa, my 8 year old niece was along when I placed this cache
however, the playground equipment here kept her busy and distracted
from our task.
As this is a neighborhood, the ultimate in stealth will be
required if the park is busy. Please search between sunrise and
sunset only - no after hour searches as the neighbors definitely do
watch for activity in this park.
Placed with the knowledge of the City of Greenfield Parks
Supervisor.
No restrooms, no bubbler or other water source as this is a
neighborhood park. Enjoy the playground equipment and gazebo for
your picnic here. This is a micro container, please leave ONLY your
signature on the log and nothing in the container. Bring your own
pen/pencil .. there is one in the cache but it seems to walk quite
frequently.
SNOW UPDATE 12-15-05 - the current snow conditions will
definitely increase the difficulty of this find - not impossible,
just more difficult.
