Live Free or Die. Short easy walk into a spooky cemetery. Great for Halloween.
This is the cemetery that held a number of the Stark family including Major Caleb Stark, son of General John Stark. John Stark was not only a famous soldier in his day, but also came up with the New Hampshire motto, Live Free or Die. This cemetery was originally down the hill past Stark Mansion at the brook where the Stark mill once was. When the Federal government decided to take the land over for flood control, the inhabitants had to move. You do not have to disturb their rest to find this cache. If you go at dusk, beware the spooky statue of Christ overlooking the yard.
