Located in Lebanon State Forest in the Pine Barrens of Southern New Jersey. Lots of trails and unpaved roads for hiking, horseback riding, and mountain biking. Also plenty of areas for picnicking and camping. Use the entrance marked Brendan T. Byrne State Forest on Route 72.
The cache is a tupperware-type shoebox with a snap on lid. Contents are in ziplock bags. Original contents include logbook, pencil and sharpener, pen, plastic corkscrew, bookmark, conch shell, playing cards, $3 bill, mustache comb, owl, crayons, tiny box, key chain and 2 big ballons (you supply the air)
You can drive almost the entire way to the cache along a sandy, bumpy tire track trail if you like, and use a pull-off on the side of the road to park. Or you can park in the parking area and walk the trail. Take some time to explore a little of this 34,000 acre forest! You'll wonder if you really are in the most populated state in the nation.
