Engine 6069 Traditional Cache
Cache Hawks: We are unhappy to say that we will finally have to archive this cache. The city of Sarnia has fenced off the Engine and there is no indication that it will be accessible in the reasonably near future. We will continue to monitor the site and if the status changes we will put a new cache in the location. Thanks to everyone who has enjoyed finding this cache.

This traditional cache will introduce you to a part of Canada’s railroading history. It is an interesting place for the family to visit and it should be a relatively easy find.
The cache is located on CNR’s Engine 6069. This engine was built in Montreal in 1944 and was one of the last steam engines built for the CNR. It weighs 320 tons, is 93 feet long and 15 feet high. It was retired from service in 1960 as a result of dieselization and then put on display. There is an information plaque to the south east of the fenced area which describes its history, and the engine can be accessed from the west.
The cache is in a camouflaged 1 Liter Lock & Lock. Parking is available in several nearby spots.
