This cache is located at the Farm beach, 5 minutes south of shelharbour
Just south of shellharbour is Killalea state rec area which is home to one of Wollongong's best surf beaches, known as the Farm (or Killalea beach as marked on most maps). I'm not exactly sure but I have heard it is called the farm because the old farmer who used to live there would charge surfers a fee to cross his property to get to the beach, there for it got its name as "The Farm". The beach is protected from the wind and most swells making it a calm, safe (yet unpatrolled) beach for swimming.
So pack the beach towels, umbrellas, surf boards or even the fishing gear and spend the day at the farm.
The cache is a standard size plastic container containing the usual goodies and is pretty easy to find. Sadly the Geo dogs are not allowed at the state rec park. There are picnic tables, old wood fired BBQ's, and even a play ground for the kids. The gates to the rec park are closed at 9pm and opened again at 4:30am. This cache has gone missing a few times over the last few years so probably best not to leave travel bugs. Please make sure the cache is well hidden with something on top of it to stop the strong winds from moving it. Good luck!
