Off the Velocipede Trail Multi-Cache
Ramsey LtD: Decided to do a maintenance visit and found the container was damp inside and there wasn't much swag left inside. Since I don't come to Ramsey that often now that I've retired, and since the cache hasn't been visited in five months, I have decided to archive it and open the area for others. Three and a half years was long enough for this cache. Thanks to all who visited here!

This multi-stage cache is easy-access at all stages. The final stage is in a wooded area, but with a little looking for the path, it is not necessary to bushwhack. GPSr coordinates are solid but may wander on the final stage due to the tree canopy.
For my first hidden cache I wanted something more challenging than a traditional cache, but not too difficult for those who may have children with them. Just for fun I decided to add a puzzle stage into the mix. After arriving at the 2nd stage you must do the following: Look for the monument to a local Medal of Honor recipient. There are two dates below the name. Convert both dates to 7-digit numbers by changing the month to its numeric equivilent (January=1, February=2, etc.). The first date replaces the letters A - G, and the second date replaces the letters H - N.

On 8/12/05 I changed the cache container to a larger size. It is now a Rubbermaid shoe box that has been camouflaged. It is not waterproof so the contents have been put in plastic bags for protection. Since the container is bigger, please rehide it well before you leave.
On 5/7/06 I deleted a troublesome stage from this multi-stage cache to eliminate the problem (the container kept getting lost or removed). The puzzle has been adjusted to reflect the change.
