Mostly paved fire road almost all the way to the cache. Very dog-friendly trail.
Bring a picnic and enjoy this wonderful place. Park in the lot at the Alvarado Staging Area. Head up the gently sloping fire road and go approximately a quarter mile to the cache area. Relax at the secluded picnic spot with views of Mt. Tamalpais. Cache container is a medium-sized plastic box containing a logbook and assorted goodies.
