Geocache Description:

Located on the grounds of the Michigan Flywheeler Museum. Please respect their hours of operation, which are 10:00 am to 3:00 pm on Wednesdays and during weekends from May through mid-October. If you come during the annual show (Thurs.-Sunday following Labor Day), you can increase the difficulty by 1 due to the heavy concentration of muggles in the area.

This cache is located with permission within the grounds of the Michigan Flywheeler Museum. The Michigan Flywheeler Museum (MFM) is a non-profit organization of volunteers dedicated to the preservation of antique farm equipment. The MFM is located near South Haven, MI on approximately 80 acres. Each year during the weekend after Labor Day, the MFM is the site of the largest antique tractor and engine show in the state of Michigan. During the show and at various other times, there may be displays of working steam engines, including a steam driven sawmill, antique tractors, and use of various hand implements.

This cache is dedicated to our Dad, Howard Putman, who passed away July 20, 2005. He loved all things related to farming, and was very proud of his John Deere 770, even though it wasn’t an antique. He, and his John Deere, were active in the day-to-day activities of the Michigan Flywheeler Museum until the end.
Exchange trinkets should be related to tractors or farming, in keeping with the theme of both the cache and its location. The original contents of the cache include a logbook and pen, along with some small tractors and related implements.
I recommend visiting the cache during the MFM Annual show, always held the Thursday-Sunday following Labor Day (small admission fee during show; donations accepted at other times), but the museum is open 10am-3pm on Wednesdays and weekends from May through mid-October. Please be respectful of the museum's hours of operation. If you come during the show, plan on being there a while and see working steam engines, antique tractors, etc. As the museum is closed from mid-October through April, the cache will not be available during these months.
