Geocache Description:

Located in Clandeboye Estate close to Helen's Tower.

Helen’s tower was completed in 1867 and was dedicated to Helen, Baroness Dufferin by her son Lord Dufferin. It was in the grounds of the estate in which the tower sits that troops from the 36th Ulster Division trained on the outbreak of WW1. A replica of Helen's Tower was built on the Somme battlefield as Northern Ireland’s national war memorial.

This Traditional cache has been replaced by a small cache in the same place. There is a log and room for some small swops.

There is a small car park on the Crawfordsburn road at Ballyleidy sawmills. Follow the gravel path over the lake and up to the tower. With your back to the door in the tower take the steps on your left down towards the derelict building.
