Castle Chase Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

MontyLuck: Attended today to carry out maintenance but discovered that the cache had been Muggled. The cache box was missing but we found the lid on the ground with lots of litter around the bench. Decided the time is right to archive this cache after its long life of almost 9 years. Thanks to everyone who has visited and apologies to anyone who did not make if before it disappeared.

Geocache Description:

This small cache is about 0.75 miles from Kenilworth Castle car park, easily reached along established public footpaths. Can become muddy during winter or after long periods of rain, walking boots or wellies recommended!

A good cache if you fancy a bit of a walk after visiting Castle View. There are also some good views of Kenilworth Castle on the way back.

Parking is available at the car park for Kenilworth Castle (N52°20.754 W001°35.386) Update May 2009: Parking charges of up to £2 are now in place 7 days a week during castle opening times, but refundable on entry to the castle.

To find the cache, follow the footpath around the back of the castle and up to Purlieu Lane. Follow the lane and go through first stile/gate on the right signposted to Chase Lane - then follow your GPS to the cache! Alternatively, try parking in front of the castle (N52°20.917 W001°35.452) and walking down Purlieu Lane. (Please note that there is no parking in Chase Lane, which is a private road.)
