A remote high mountain location near High Bakestones with fantastic views on the right day. There were a group of magnficent cairns here but sadly only one remains now. The rest were destroyed deliberately apparently by a vandal.
This cache is dedicated to all those runners who pass this way on The Ian Hodgson Mountain Relay held each year on the first Sunday in October in memory of Ian Hodgson.
The Race covers the area used in the 1985 Karrimor Mountain Marathon, in which Ian was amongst the prizewinners, and was first held in 1986.
A group of friends competed in this event for many years.
Fond memories.
Carpe Diem.
