Cold Hard Currency Cache (Gander) Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Cache-tech: Greetings from Geocaching.com

I have had no contact with the cache owner since my last note and there has been no notes posted to the cache page in that time. While I feel that Geocaching.com should hold the location for you and block other cachers from entering the area around this cache for a reasonable amount of time I don’t think we can do so any longer. Therefore, I have archived this cache.

I want to thank you for the time that you have taken to contribute to geocaching in the past and am looking forward to seeing your cache up and running in the future. If you do not plan on replacing/repairing your cache, please CITO any remains returning the site to the original state before you placed your cache.

Thanks for your understanding,
Cache-tech

Geocache Description:

Cache located at Thomas Howe Demonstration Forest, just east of Gander.

If you travel abroad in any measure, you know to spend your change aggressively on the way home, as it is near impossible to get your loose change converted to Canadian funds on home soil. This cache is a testament to that.

The cache contains:

- 1 Euro cent
- 2 Swiss Francs
- 4 Great British Pence
- 1 Dominican Republic Peso
- A Euro nickel
- 1 Barbados Dollar
- 1 US dime
- Canadian 50 cent piece
- 5 cents Canadian tire money
- One beach shell (Precambrian currency, of course - sadly, it's not a sand dollar.)

Feel free to add or take money in keeping with the currency theme. There is no logbook.

The cache is located at Thomas Howe Demonstration, just east of Gander. There are two ways to the cache ... either way, do the circuit, it's well worth the walk. I saw four scurrying shrews on the night I placed it, if anyone can report a higher number, let me know.

The demonstration forest has a great picnic area and lookout, two or three babbling brooks, a plane wreckage site, retired movie set, evidence of lightning strikes, and some interesting interpretation, even if you aren't that into flora ...

This is an easy find by design. Please hide the cache exactly as discovered, and enjoy.
