Geocache Description:

This cache is a 5 stage multicache. The terrain is a walking trail and the caches leading to the final are within 50 feet of Braddock Trail. There are ravines near the trail, but all caches are near level with the trail, not down the ravine.

The cache was set to show people the renovations to Nine Mile Run.
Information can be found at (visit link) An
interesting map from 1904 (pre-Frick Park) can be seen at (visit link)

The first stage is a puzzle at the memorial at the posted coordinates. To find the second stage find the following information on the memorial:

Stage 2: N40° 26.0AB W79° 53.9CD

A: 1st digit in date to right at bottom
B: last digit in date to the left
C: number of listings with last name Carlson
D: number of listings with name Hutchison (tricky)

The first stage used to be a micro in the turtle, but got muggled repeatedly. The next 3 stages are in plastic sealable containers (~2 cup size) hidden in a traditional cache manner. The final stage is a 50 cal ammo can. The coordinates and hints for each stage are on small strips of paper in each stage. The hints are general to specific separated by slashes. If you plan on making a day of Frick
Park caches, this multi ends closest to Stone Stash (GCG437) in case it makes the caching planning easier. There are shaded picnic tables in the parklet at stage 1 if you plan a picnic. I got a lot of ideas from from Elves in the Heights (GC8294) and Third Time is a Charm? (GCNP29).

If you are taking the bus the starting coordinates are easily accessible from the 61A or 61B which both pass the blue slide area of the park at South Braddock Avenue and Forbes.
