Still Not A Bomb Traditional Cache
OReviewer: As there's been no cache to find for months, I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. If you wish to repair/replace the cache sometime in the future, just contact us (by email), and assuming it meets the guidelines, we'll be happy to unarchive it.

This is the cache that used to live under the Cunningham Road Bridge in Gettysburg. It has been moved to a new home.
This ammo can was once a popular cache, minding its own business and not bothering anybody, under an old bridge. One day, some men from PennDOT came to inspect the bridge, and saw the ammo can. Not knowing what it was, they called the police, thinking it might be a bomb. Fortunately, most of the involved officers were reasonable, and upon being told what the mysterious object was, the bomb squad was called off. The remaining cop took the cache into "evidence".
The Cunningham Road bridge was not much of a terrorist target. It was a one lane steel bridge that went hours without seeing any traffic. The "bomb scare" did make the front page of the Gettysburg Times (in REALLY BIG PRINT)!
A few days later, the guys from PennDOT came back and closed the bridge. Clearly, the bridge was more of a threat than anything that could be placed under it. Months later, the Liberty Township policeman returned the cache.
The cache hunted for a new home, but wasn't happy in the woods, behind buildings, or anywhere else. It is a bridge cache, and a new bridge had to be found.
Oakside Park, in Biglerville, turned out to be just the place. There are several foot bridges, and this cache found a cozy hiding spot. The park itself is lovely, with picnic facilities and playgrounds for the kids.
