Geocache Description:

Byron Glacier Trail

This is one of the many trails that the U.S. Forest Service maintains in the Portage Valley and one of my favorite. Park at the trail head and enjoy an easy 3/4 of a mile hike. Try to find and follow a trail from the second “Danger - Hazardous Snow and Ice Conditions” sign. From there the cache is only about a third of a mile away. You do not have to cross the snow & ice just the remains of a glacier. PLEASE BE CAREFUL, for there are no trails in this boulder field. The satellite reception is lousy at best but with time can be received.

There is an old saying that this area reminds me of,

“Geologic Time Includes Right Now."

It's an elegant way of saying "Watch out for lose and falling rocks or you will be hurt.

One would be wise to have good pair of hiking boots and be ready for anything because cell phones are of no use on this hike.

FTF - Lunch is on me.
