Circus Flats Traditional Cache
Bisonjump: As mentioned, the cache was in an area frequented by people with little or no respect for the area. My recent visit to the area to replace the stolen cache was unsuccesful since there were picnickers throwing beer cans at each other.
I agree the site should be archived.

Easy drive w/ 2 wheel drive until the snow falls. Parking within 100 yds, but off the main road.
Located in the immediate vicinity of the convergence of three creeks, this site is well known in SW Montana as a major gold dig. Still operated by a mountain gold panner with numerous claims, so don’t try to swipe the dust. If you see him, ask about the area and Mr. K will likely show you how to pan gold. Start at Fairmont Hot Springs, south by the condos. Asphalt, dirt, then an easy drive on the old mine road past the Ranger Station. Circus Flats (not noted on maps) was named for the traveling shows that set up in the big field for the miners, their families, and the Chinese folks who moved millions of tons of rocks in search of gold.
To this day, rumors continue about an elderly Chinese gentleman who died leaving a sizable cache of gold near his cabin.
Cache contains poncho, Kleenex, firestarter kit, airplane, flashlight, tool kit, toys, all sorts of goodies.
