From Parking Lot, head East on Cumpressco Grade Road.
Green Swamp West is a 39,000 plus-acre tract that preserves much
of the Withlacoochee River and its drainage basin from the Green
Swamp to the Withlacoochee State Forest. It is an integral part of
the SWFWMD's plan to protect the Green Swamp and headwaters of the
Withlacoochee River.
Biking, Hiking, and Equestrian activities are supported by this
area. There are 42 miles of marked shared trails for bicycling and
equestrian use. These trails are marked with white diamond signs.
The 13 miles of the Florida National Scenic Trail (Foot Traffic
Only) are maintained by Florida Trail Association volunteers.
