This cache has been archived.

Reviewer Revan: Cache Owner (CO) has not responded, so I am regretfully archiving this cache to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking new cache placements. If you wish to repair/replace this cache sometime in the future (not to exceed 10 days from the date of this entry), just contact me (by e-mail), and assuming it still meets the current Guidelines, I will consider unarchiving this cache.

Please be advised this is not a guarantee that this geocache will be unarchived. Many factors will go into my decision. The most important of which is how you responded to geocachers who tried to communicate with you regarding the problem(s) with this geocache hide and how you communicated with me, the Reviewer Revan.

Geocache Description:

a small cigar-box-type plastic container

On this hill stood Albany's first public school. A wooden building was erected in 1884 and was replaced by a stone structure in 1909. It was enlarged westward in 1923 and eastward in 1927. A gymnasium was added northward in 1928. In 1960, the school and gymnasium were demolished and the stones used to make the structure that is now the stadium. The south arch of the gateway to the stadium stands on its original site. The north arch of the stadium was moved from a postion 60 feet north. The arched entrances to the gymnasium were rebuilt in the walls flanking the gateway in the archway at the stadium. There is a date stone from the 1923 addition. Each rock was moved my hand, one by one. You can see where some of them were numbered. Although the cache is not at the gateway, it is interesting to see.
